Mud and Lotus Farms

Located inside the historic Villa Borja, just steps from one of the most coveted surf breaks in northern Mexico, rests a low-tech, high-amplitude wellness center named Mud and Lotus Baja.

Community farming

For three years we provided donation-based yoga and self-defense classes to our local community, as well as hosting countless visitors during our quarterly retreats. When the global pandemic limited our ability to meet our community in person, we took the opportunity to pivot into an additional channel of service: community farming.

What began as an exploratory venture grew to include an A-list of collaborators and consultants, who guided us through our first chemical- and pesticide-free harvest of corn, beans, squash, tomatoes and peppers, distributed in boxes to families in need and to orphanages here in Mexico.

In 2020 we opened the effort to the wider community with a GoFundMe campaign to fund a full year of food donations (October 2020 to October 2021).
